Dr. Harper served as the Chief Executive Officer and President of Micromet, Inc. since March 02, 2012. He served as Senior Vice President of Global Development and Corporate Chief Medical Officer of Amgen Inc. until February 14, 2012 and Vice President of Global Regulatory Affairs & Safety since 2005. Dr. Harper joined Amgen in 2002 as Vice President of Development and has held several roles, including the establishment of Amgen's Medical Sciences capability, a translational medicine group focused on biomarker discovery, development and integration into early phase clinical studies. He served as Senior Director of clinical genomics at Merck Research Labs. He has been a Director of Micromet, Inc.since March 02, 2012. He is a member of the PhRMA Regulatory Affairs Coordinating Committee. He attended medical school at the University of California at San Francisco, completed internal medicine and gastroenterology training at the Massachusetts General Hospital and was a postdoctoral fellow in the laboratory of Phillip A. Sharp at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
