Mr. Robert J. Halliday, also known as Bob, has been Corporate Vice President of Corporate Business Development of Applied Materials, Inc. since August 24, 2017 and served as its Chief Financial Officer and Senior Vice President from February 2013 to August 24, 2017. Mr. Halliday served as an Executive Vice President of Varian Semiconductor Equipment Associates Inc., since October 18, 2004, its Chief Financial Officer since March 2001 and Treasurer since February 2009. Mr. Halliday served as Vice President of Varian Semiconductor Equipment Associates Inc., from March 2001 to October 2004 and Treasurer from November 2002 to October 2006. Prior to joining Varian Semiconductor, he served as Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Unica Corp., a software company. Previously, he served as Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer of Ionics Inc., a manufacturer of water treatment capital equipment, since 2000. He served as the Chief Financial Officer of Ionics Inc. from 1990 to 2000 and additionally, Group Vice President of the Consumer Water Group of Ionics Inc. from 1996 to 2000. Mr. Halliday began his career with the audit firm of Arthur Anderson. He served as a Director of ZOLL Medical Corporation. He is also a Certified Public Accountant. Mr. Halliday received an MBA degree from The Wharton School of Finance and B.S. in Accounting from the University of Pennsylvania, Wharton School of Finance.
