If you could make changes, how would you improve the culture at Applied Materials?
I think Applied is a late life cycle company. It is a hard driving tough industry and very competitive. I think if they plan to sustain hires at millennial ages, they will need to rethink how operations are handled or operations will migrate offshore due to inability to bring in and retain talent as the core Amat employees are beginning to retire now.

How's the work life balance at Applied Materials?
It is Silicon Valley, so same.
Does Applied Materials have any remote positions?
AMAT is a global company and some roles are remote but it depends on the type of job

varies by group, except when you get to director and above. Exec level promotions managed tightly by exec staff.
How's the vacation policy at Applied Materials?
AMAT has PTO, not vacation time. Length is determined by years of service, so if you are a long tenured employee up to 6 weeks. I think you start off at 3 weeks, but Applied also has shutdowns every year in which they deduct your accrued pto. New hires should factor this into their negotiations.
