Mr. Douglas K. Howell, also known as Doug, has been the Chief Financial Officer of Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. since April 2003 and has been its Corporate Vice President since March 2003. Mr. Howell joined Gallagher from 21st Century Insurance Group, where he serves as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. He is a Certified Public Accountant and previously worked with the accounting firms now known as KPMG and PricewaterhouseCoopers. He served as Director of 21st Century Insurance Group until February 2003. He earned a BA from Iowa State University and an MBA from the University of Chicago.
