Automattic Compensation Employee Reviews

What is the best part about your compensation package?

Hands down the health insurance. Every provider I go to says, “Wow, you have amazing coverage

The salaries are global and not specific to the country you work for!

The coaching benefit is really great.

International contractor in my case (no subsidiary in my country of residence): company-based life insurance policy providing two years of my salary to my chosen beneficiaries in case of any type of death while employed at Automattic.

Salary is higher than average for the country I live in.

Salary is good and according to responsibility level and work load

unlimited time off, means just that.

The HSA benefit is nice.

Parental leave and free vacation

Good pay, strong healthcare benefits, and stock!

Absolute flexibility. Anything is pondered if it makes you to be better.

Great benefits and great starting salary.

I am guaranteed a raise every year

Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?

Compared to other VC-backed companies of Automattic's size and age, the benefits -- especially for the international folks -- aren't amazing, and there are no stock option grants whatsoever. You can buy internal stock, but that isn't useful when you don't have lots of money left over every month.
