Compared to other VC-backed companies of Automattic's size and age, the benefits -- especially for the international folks -- aren't amazing, and there are no stock option grants whatsoever. You can buy internal stock, but that isn't useful when you don't have lots of money left over every month.

Whole interview process was asynchronous where I didn't get on a single video call
Custom tailored all the way, including trial phase. Very supported throughout the latter.
I got to meet and speak to various members of the team I was due to join. It allowed me to see under the hood into the inner workings of the company before I committed.
