All lies. Just under 20 laid off this week and prior round of layoffs happened last year. This place is a revolving door.

We have never done any layoffs in the software engineering department. We do manage performance and have managed people out for performance.
What's the work from home policy like at Axon?
Allowed
At least in software engineering, employees are welcome to work from home. A few people even work completely remotely, although that's the exception.
As long as you let your team know and they are okay with it, work from home as much as you want!
How's the morale at Axon?
People are working hard to achieve our mission so in general the morale is high.
Awesome. We are all happy to be executing a valuable social mission. There are a lot of resources being dedicated to engineering and product development in general. A good place to be.

You should work for Axon if you believe in the mission. Axon's mission is very socially relevant and impactful. You can feel good about what you do on a daily basis. Axon makes technology to improve law enforcement use of force (Tasers: make it non-lethal where possible), law enforcement transparency (body cameras), and law enforcement efficiency (software). Axon's eventual goal is to expand this impact into all aspects of criminal justice.

What is the best advice you could give someone during their first month at Axon?
Talk to as many people from as many teams as possible. There is a lot of documentation, but sometimes it's buried. Build connections to build understanding and orient yourself. Also, go on a ride-along with local law enforcement! That will be hugely helpful in understanding our customers.
