
BabyList's Frequently Asked Questions page is a central hub where its customers can always go to with their most common questions. These are the 92 most popular questions BabyList receives.
Surprises can be difficult when there's a registry involved! Even if the registrant opted out of notifications, they'll still be able to see when things are no longer on their list. Here's the down low on how our registry works-
Registrants have the option of receiving an email alert when gifts are reserved. It's their choice to opt in or out of those emails and we can't change their settings without their permission.
We keep who reserved what hidden unless the registrant specifically wants to know, in which case, they have access to their "Thank you" list. It comes in handy at the end when they need to thank people or make any exchanges. But it's up to them not to peek in the meantime!
One note of caution- if you chose not to reserve your gifts so as to not alert the registrant, they remain available on the registry for others to purchase. This leads to duplicate gifting. We strongly encourage you not to skip reserving gifts!
View ArticleBabylist is a universal wish list. Our registrants have chosen the gifts they'd like from a variety of stores. Since they can add any gift from any store to one list, that means the items you see can come from any number of different retailers.
1) Click on Give this Gift" and enter your name and email address.This step is what removes your gifts from the list so they don't get duplicates.
2) When you are ready to purchase your gift, click the red button on the right as in the photo below. Youll be redirected to the item on that retailers website, where youll need to add the item to your cart. Then you can purchase the item from that store.Please note:We'll give you links to a retailer or two that carries your gift but where you buy the gift is totally up to you. You can also buy things in-store!
3) Click I've purchased this on your reservation page. Please include the name of the store where you purchased it and your order number. This will make things so much easier for the new parents!
If you want to ship the gift directly to the registrant, remember to enter their address as the shipping location during checkout. The registrant's address is located at the bottom left side of your reservation page.
If you change your mind, please remember to unreserve the gift from your reservation page so that someone else has a chance to purchase it. Click Cancel Reservation to return to the gift back to the registry.

View ArticleTo update the bank information on your cash funds, log into your account on the website. Click on your name at the top right corner of your registry to access the account drop down menu > Settings > Cash Fund. Please note: this feature is not currently available on our android or iOS app.
Select "Request a Link"
We will e-mail you with the specific link to update your account information on your cash funds. You will be asked to log into your registry (if you are not currently logged in).
Enter your routing number, account number and date of birth.
Note: Only the account owner can update the bank information associated with your cash funds. Any person who has been given admin access to your registry will not be able to access your cash fund account.
View ArticleIf for any reason you don't end up buying the items you reserved, search for the email we sent you about your gift reservation. The email will be titled: "Did you buy this gift from Name's Registry?"If you click on "Cancel Reservation" within that email, you will be redirected to your reservation page where you can proceed to confirm your cancellation.

If you can't find an email from us about your reservation, be sure to check your spam folder. If you have access to the registry you were shopping off of, you can also click on the item you had originally reserved directly from the registry to have the link to your reservation page sent to you via email.
Since gift reservations never expire, it is very important to unreserve gifts you don't plan to buy so someone else can purchase them.

View ArticleWe apologize about this.The price at the retailer is correct, not the price displayed on the registry. Since Babylist is a universal wishlist, gifts on the registry can be added from any number of different retailers. We are able to keep many prices up to date, butit is possible that we missed one.
Thankfully though, Babylist gives you the freedom to purchase your gift anywhere. So if you can find the gift for a better price at another retailer, you can purchase it there instead. The most important part is the reservation. Make sure you reserve any gift you purchase regardless of where you purchase it. Then you can return to your reservation page to mark the gift as purchased and include the retailer where you ended up purchasing your gift.

Are you using the app?
If you are using the Babylist iOS app, tap the menu bar in the upper left-hand corner > Registry > View Gift Cards/Promos. From there, you can see your balance or enter a gift card code by clicking on "Redeem a gift card at Babylist.com."
You can then shop at our store. Add the items you want to your cart and your Babylist gift card credit will be automatically applied to your order.
To view your Babylist gift card balance on the Android app,tap the menu bar in the upper left-hand corner > Registry > View Gift Cards/Promos.
Please note:The Android app allows you to view your Babylist gift card balance, however, you cannot currently checkout within the app.

The Hello Baby Box will only be available to the registrys primary owner.
Your Babylist registry must have complete and correct user information that includes, but is not limited to: First Name, Last Name, Email Address, Babys Arrival Date, and a valid U.S. shipping address
Your babys arrival date must be between four weeks ago and up to nine months away from the date you created your registry

You live within the 50 United States - The Hello Baby Box can only be shipped within the 50 United States. Hello Baby Boxes cannot ship to PO boxes, U.S. Territories, APO/DPO/FPO, Canada or other international addresses.
You have not received a Hello Baby Box or Welcome Box from Babylist within the last year. There is a one box limit per household per year.
After you become eligible for the Hello Baby Box, you will be asked to confirm your shipping address. At that time, you will also be asked to enter your credit/debit card to pay for the $9.99 shipping fee.
Once you have met all the eligibility requirements and a box becomes available for you, we'll send an email to let you know that your Hello Baby Box is on its way! Your Hello Baby Box may take up to two to four weeks to be shipped.

You can then choose the sharing method of your choice. Your registry visibility matterswhen it comes to helping people find your registry!
If your visibility is set to Public they will be able to go to babylist.com, click "Find a Registry" and search for you by name.
If you have chosen to make your registry searchable on Google, they can also use Google search to find your registry.
If your visibility is set to Hiddenthey will only be able to find your registry if they have the exact URL of your registry (http://babylist.com/your-lovely-name). You can find your exact URL on your "Share Registry" page.
If you have a password set-up for your guests, they will need the password to access your registry.
To update your visibility settings from the website, go to your "View Registry" page and click on "Your Registry is Hidden" (located just below your registry title). Or click your name at the top right corner of your registry to access the account drop down menu > Settings > Registry Visibility. If you're logged in, you can go directly to that page.
To update your visibility settings using the app, tap on the Menu button in the upper left corner > Registry > Visibility & Privacy. Select your privacy setting and click "Save."

The Babylist gift card is an e-gift card, so we will deliver it by email, not by standard mail. When you purchase it, you will have the option to email it to yourself to print later, or you can have it emailed directly to the registrant.
When you choose to email directly to the registrant, the gift card is automatically applied to the registrant's account. If you choose to print it yourself, the registrant will only be able to redeem the gift card with the code provided in your order confirmation email.
Babylist gift cards can only be used to purchase items sold by the Babylist Store and cannot be used to purchase items sold by other retailers.Babylist Store only ships within the United States and APO/DPO/FPO addresses.
View ArticleGift cards can be delivered one of two ways- via email or via print at home.
If the gift giver chooses email delivery, the card is sent to you via email and it's immediately applied to your account.
If the gift giver chooses the print at home delivery, it means they want to give the gift card to you personally. You won't receive an email and the credit is not applied directly to your account. Once you receive the gift card, you can apply it to your account by going to Settings >Gift Card/Promos on the website or Menu > Registry > View Gift Cards/Promos on the iOS app.

Once an item leaves our warehouse, we are unable to change the shipping address.
Dropship orders can take an additional 2-3 business days to process, but should still arrive within 3-8 business days. Tracking information on these orders can take an additional 2-3 business days to update.

There is no time limit for manually requesting a transfer of your funds.However, after 30 days of inactivity, our system will automatically submit the transfer for you. We do this to ensure you receive your cash gifts.
View ArticleIf you purchased an item or received a gift purchased directly from the Babylist Store, we are happy to accept returns within nine months of the purchase date. Returned items must be in the same condition received, unopened and in the original packaging. We do not accept returns on opened or used items.
We offer refunds to the original method of payment or as a Babylist Store credit. If any portion of your order was paid for using a Babylist Gift Card or store credit, funds will be returned to the gift card first and then the credit/debit card originally used for payment.
Refunds are issued within 3-5 business days after your return arrives to our warehouse. Once the return has been processed, youll receive a final confirmation email containing refund information.
To return a gift purchased from your registry, click the return link next to the item(s) youd like to return from your Gift Tracker page.
To return any gift you purchased directly from the Babylist store, just head to our Returns Center to begin.

Are you using the app?
Go to the menu bar (at the top left side of your screen) and select Registry > Partner Info. Simply enter their information and we'll send them an invite so they can manage the registry alongside you.
View ArticleBabylist is free for you and your gift-givers. Gift are purchased by your gift-givers directly from each store. Gift-givers are only responsible for the purchase price + shipping of the gifts.
The only exception to this is if you add a cash fund to your Babylist and the gift giver wants to donate. Your friends and family will see a handling fee added to their cash fund order of 2.9% plus $0.90.
All other purchases made from or through Babylist have no additional cost.

View ArticleSince Babylist is a universal wish list, registrants can add any item from any store. Parents-to-be love it because they aren't limited in their selections! However, it does mean that the items you choose may end up coming from many different retailers.
Items that come from different retailers must be purchased separately. If you are able to find the exact same item at a different retailer, feel free to purchase it there as well! However, please note that some retailers (like Pottery Barn Kids and Etsy) sell unique items that can not be found elsewhere.
If you want to avoid having to checkout at more than one store, use the "Stores" filter on the right side of the registry page to narrow down items by their retailers.
Once you have reserved the items you'd like to purchase, all the gifts from similar retailers will be grouped together in your reservation page. If you have multiple gifts from the same retailer, here's how you can purchase them in one order:
Beside the first item, click the button that says "CLICK TO BUY".
That opens a new TAB in your web browser. Add that item to your cart.
Then click the TAB in your web browser that says "Your Babylist Gifts". (It's at the very, very top of your browser, not the web page.)
Click the button that says "CLICK TO BUY" for the second item. Add it to your cart.
Repeat as needed for the other items fromthe same retailer.
Once all your items are in your cart, you can proceed through checkout. Pay special attention to the shipping address if you need to ship the gifts to the registrant. Otherwise you can have them shipped to you- it's your choice.
If you want to ship the gift directly to the registrant, remember to enter their address as the shipping location during checkout. You can locate the registrant's address on the bottom left side of your reservation page.
If you change your mind, please remember to remove the gift from your reservation so that someone else has a chance to purchase it.

View ArticleMost likely, you have your Registry Visibility set to "Hidden", meaning people can only access your Babylist if they have your unique URL.
Here is how the visibility settings work-
(1) Public:Makes your registry searchable only on Babylist.
Option for Google (must check box):Makes your registry available on Google. It can take Google up to two weeks to add your Babylist to their results but your Babylist is instantly searchable on our site.
(2) Hidden:Makes your Babylist unsearchable. Friends and family need to have your unique link to access your registry.
For all of these options, you can choose whether or not your visitors need a password to access your registry. The default is that no password is required, so if you want to add a password, make sure to check the box that reads "Visitors need a password to access my registry".

To see who reserved or purchased a specific gift, tap on the item and then tap on "Gift Giver Info." From there, tap on "See Who Got You This Gift." This will show your gift giver's name, email andif they provided it to us, you'll also see the retailer and the order number.

Download our iOS app. You can then add items to your registry by clicking the plus sign in the lower right of your Registry screen, or you can turn on the "Share to Babylist" feature in your mobile browser.
To turn on the "Share to Babylist" feature, go to your mobile browser and click on the center "Share" icon in the bottom navigation bar, select "More" and switch Babylist on:

Once this is turned on, to add items to your registry, click the "Share" icon in your mobile browser again, then your new "Add to Babylist" button.
Note: "Share to Babylist" only works if your iPhone or iPad is running at least iOS 8. You won't see the "Share to Babylist" button if your device is on iOS 7 or less. The only way to fix this is to update your device to a more recent version of iOS.

When making a contribution to your fund, your friends and family will see a handling fee added to their order of 2.9% plus $0.90. That means if your friend wants to contribute $50, their total when checking out would be $52.35. The amount available for you to transfer would be $50.
View ArticleAs long as you like! Your reservation with Babylist will never expire. We do ask that you return to your reserved gift list and mark the item as purchased after you have bought it. You can indicate what store you purchased it from and, if it was an online order, enter the order number. That makes it easier on the registrants in case they need to make any exchanges.
If you change your mind, return to your reservation page with Babylist and click the blue "Cancel Reservation" link in the item's box to put it back on the registry for someone else to purchase.
View ArticleReturns are processed by the retailer where they were purchased. If your gift was purchased from another retailer, you'll want to contact them and let them know you need to make a gift return.
We ask your guests for all the information youll need to make returns easier. Visit your Gift Tracker Page for the purchasers name and email address, along with other order information theyve provided to us.
In most cases, the retailer can look up the order under the gift giver's name and email address if there's no order number provided.
Please note: Every retailer has a different return policy. If you have any questions regarding a retailer's return policy, please contact them directly.
View ArticleAfter you purchase your gift, you can simply return to the reservation confirmation email sent by Babylist when you first reserved your gift. Clicking on the link will allow you to update your gift's status from "Reserved" to "Purchased." It's important to complete this step so that Babylist can then stop sending you reminder emails!
Additionally, when marking your gift as purchased, you have the opportunity to include information which is useful to the registrant: the retailer where you purchased the gift and the order number. Including this information makes any necessary necessary returns or exchanges much easier for the the new parents.

Make sure you are logged into your Babylist account. You can then shop items in the Babylist store. You can also click the link at the top of your registry that reads "Your 15% registry discount is ready!" to see all of the items you've added to your registry that are eligible for the registry discount. You are not limited to only the items on your registry, so be sure to look ateverything we have to offer in the Babylist store. Onceyou'veadded all the items to your cart, click the yes button where it asks Apply your one-time 15% registry discount to this order?
Please note:discounts will only be seen (and can only be used) by the person who created the registry, and not by partners added to the registry.

View ArticleWe actually don't have a printer-friendly version of registries on purpose. We used to but then gift givers were printing the list, going to the store, buying a ton of gifts and never coming back to reserve the items off of Babylist. Our users were getting lots and lots of duplicate gifts. Because of that, we have removed that feature.
View ArticleMost likely, the gift was marked as purchased on your reservation page, which removes the ability tobuy it. To update this, return to your reservation page with Babylist. You can get there by clicking on the link that we sent you over email.
If you can't find an email from us about your reservation, be sure to check your spam folder. If you have access to the registry you were shopping off of, you can also click on the item you had originally reserved directly from the registry to have the link to your reservation page sent to you via email.
From there, uncheck "I already purchased this". This will bring up the red button(s) for each item. Click those to be re-directed to the retailer where you can purchase your gift.

View ArticleSince you are the account owner, your default view is to see "All Gifts." This includes gifts that are both available and reserved by your gift givers.
Are you using a Computer?
To toggle between sections, from your "View Registry" section click on "All Gifts" located under your registry title. You can then choose between "All Gifts", "Available Gifts" and "Reserved & Purchased Gifts".
Are you using the app?
From your registry, click on the "Filter" button. You can then choose between "All", "Available" and "Reserved" gifts.

From the website, Click your name on the far right corner > Settings > Gift Card/Promos to see your gift card balance.
Are you using app?
Tap the menu bar in the upper left-hand corner > Registry > View Gift Cards/Promos. From there, you can see your gift card balance.
Please note: the Android app allows you to view your Babylist gift card balance, however, you cannot currently checkout within the Android app.

View ArticleWe keep your address private until a gift giver reserves a gift. Then we provide it to them in their confirmation email and on their reservation page.
Otherwise, your address is not visible.
We do this because Babylist will not sync with other retailers. Your address will not be auto-populated onto their checkout pages. For the ease of your gift givers, we provide your address for them to enter so they can send their gifts directly to you.

From your "View Registry" page, click the organize button (next to the registry filter button) on the far right side of your registry.

Here are the options we offer for organizing your Babylist registry:
* Drag to reorder items within a category and use the drop down menu to move items to a new category.
* Rearrange the order of your categories by clicking on the up and down arrows on the far right of each category header.
* Create custom categories by clicking on "+ New Category.
* Mark any category as private byusing the drop down menu or clicking on the three dots. Marking a category as private makes it visible only to you.
* Edit the name of a category by clicking on the pencil next to the title.
* Dont forget to click Done Organizing when youre finished to save your changes!
Are you using the app?
In the app, go to the menu bar (at the top left side of your screen) and select Registry. Scroll down to tap Organize Registry.From there, just press and hold the three lines next to the items and categories. You can then drag and drop them in whatever order you'd like.

View ArticleWhere the gift is shipped is entirely up to you! During the checkout process, you can use your own address or the registrant's. If you need the registrant's shipping address, it is listed in the email we send you and at the bottom left side of your reservation page.
Babylist Store orders:
If the gift is sold by Babylist, you will see a red "Checkout" button on your reservation page. Clicking this button will take you directly to our checkout page. If the registrant has provided their address it will automatically give you the option to ship to them. If you prefer to ship to another location, you can manually enter the address.
Other store orders:
Most gifts listed on Babylist registries are sold and shipped by other retailers. When purchasing a gift from another retailer, it is important to remember that the registrant's address will not auto-populate during checkout. You'll have to manually enter it. You can locate the registrant's address on the bottom left side of your reservation page.

No worries! If there's no address listed on the registry, our Happiness Heroes can reach out to the registrant to request it for you.
Need to change where the gift is shipped?
If the order is from Babylist, contact our and we will be happy to update the address for you. Note: there is only a limited time for us to make changes to an order. Once it is shipped we cannot make changes.
If the order is from another retailer, you'll want to contact them directly to make any updates to your order. Other retailers won't know about BabyList or our registries but you can tell them that you purchased a gift and would like to update the shipping address. They should be able to provide you with more information.
