The depth of experience that each member of the team brings to the table helps me to trust in their judgement.
Very transparent and always open to hearing from the rest of the company.
It's transparent. I can easily know what needs to be done, or how to fix a mistake without feeling belittled.
They are accessible and genuinely care about the well being, happiness, and development of all employees.
The leadership team encourages me to have a life outside of work.
Communication and response to consumers and customer service values
Stepping up to fill the role and provide a strong face of leadership when the company needs it-- while I appreciate the flat structure and the opportunity to provide input in a lot of areas, there are times when desired culture changes need to be decided and enacted from the top down.
Flexible work schedule and unlimited PTO
The best part is the unlimited pto, which I should use more often.
I believe that I'm being compensated very fairly for the industry, when it comes to salary. There isn't an employer-offered 401(k), not to mention a matching program, which is unfortunate. But the free lunch wherever you want every day is a really nice perk.
I'm paid well and have unlimited PTO. That's all that matters to me.
I personally would like to see a 401(k) plan.
They are all very smart, motivated, and high performers. My team members encourage me to be a better developer & leader each day.
They communicate efficiently without animosity.
Everyone on the team has something that makes them unique and memorable upon meeting them for the first time. We have respectful debates, back each other up when needed, and know when its time to decompress and joke around.
Brilliant people, always pushing me to be better each day. They're all personable, down-to-earth people, and all have a passion for their work.
I feel that when I have input about making our product better or have an issue that needs to be resolved people actually listen to me and care about what I have to say. Being able to collaborate with out getting shot down is a very valuable thing.
Lack of follow-through and organization. Sometimes it feels like the wild, wild West with everyone doing their own thing for themselves without thinking about how it will impact the future.
Everyone trusts that you're doing your job, and getting your work done, regardless of what schedule you choose. You'll never get a sideways glance for coming in later, or needing to leave earlier. We all trust each other, and want to do whatever we can to help each other.
Openness and transparency-- I feel like I can be my authentic self and I can share my ideas and suggestions without judgment.
The culture fostered here at Bento encourages us to speak our mind without fear of repercussion. We all sit in an open seating arrangement, which fosters collaboration. Our management team sit with us, further embedding them into the company's heartbeat.
Everyone really looks after each other, and tries to include everyone when doing activities after hours. We are allowed unlimited PTO and no one ever complains or asks why I am sick or why I need a day off, it's just given.
Need to be better about celebrating our successes, start hiring earlier on (and less out of desperation) with a more structured evaluation of skills/experience/personality traits.
I really appreciated the take-home coding challenge, which I feel better represents the skills of a programmer than a bunch of whiteboard questions. There were also whiteboard questions later, but at least at that points, the interviewers had seen my real code.

There are tough challenges that I know will help me to grow as a software engineer, and great opportunities for career growth that continue to stimulate me. I'm excited to get my hands into the code underlying our system, and contribute to the team as we continue to move forward.
No day is the same and there are constantly new challenges to tackle. I have the autonomy and trust of my coworkers and the management team to solve those problems and do my job well.
The free lunch. I'm saving $50-$80 a week.
The problems that I solve each day, and the opportunity to grow as an individual and as a future leader.
I can be my normal, unfiltered self. I don't have to watch every single thing I say or do. I feel independent enough to be able to fix problems without asking permission for every detail.
