Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
To quote one of the executives "We can pay them less because they actually believe in what they're doing." This only works if the mission and values of the company remain intact. The mission has taken a serious blow due to ethical missteps at the top.

What are some of the best things about your team?
Mostly due to employee referrals, the non-management level employees at BPF are truly phenomenal. Many of them joined for the mission and they are a joy to work with.

Everyone is hard working, intelligent and also very friendly. People have the right level of passion/commitment to our mission: they care deeply, but without having dogmatic POVs that can get in the way of listening to be feedback & being flexible
The team is mission-driven, they have big hearts and bring their whole selves to work. We have the privilege of supporting people through a very tender time and intimate decisions and this team consistently brings the level of compassion and care needed to do it exceptionally well.

What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?
The most positive aspect is that many employees still adamantly strive to serve our customers to the utmost of their ability with little to no support from the leadership. The most positive thing about the environment currently is the work-remote situation.

Part of my interview involved walking through the forest with our founder and CEO Sandy Gibson. His passion for the project was contagious and tangible.

What's going wrong and how can it be improved?
Toxic leadership needs to be completely overhauled. The culture at the top is abysmal and no amount of anti-harassment training etc. is going to change that. Several of the execs truly do not believe in the mission and are openly in this for the cynical cash grab.
