I joined the company accepting a little lower comp than I expected only because I loved the culture, product and that we have a great team onboard. This opportunity had provided great exposure and I can learn a lot to progress in my career but comp raise hasn't satisfied me compared to my effort.

Allow your staff the space to do the job they were hired for. Create a plan for the year as a team, collaboratively and work towards it. Changes and shifts will happen but try to stick to the plan and not veer off course when shiny objects arise.
