Systematically. The word or acronym “HR” carries very heavy weight in the Boeing vernacular. “HR” processes are generally avoided at all costs by all levels of employees unless absolutely unavavoidable. “HR” processes at Boeing are sluggish, blind and seemingly nonsensical at times. “HR” seems to have their hands bound by so many regulations and policies that they often seem non-functional or even dysfunctional. So, to answer the question, Boeing the company handles “HR” issues very systematically, very much like a governmental legal process. On the other hand, most Boeing employees try very hard to avoid having “HR” involved on any level of any process.
Boeing needs to cull the company HR herd. In a typical Boeing division there is a minimum of five or six layers of HR management and hundreds and hundreds of HR robots. The Boeing HR herd preaches what they call Boeing Behaviors but rarely does any of them personally practice these behaviors themselves. Take it from someone who witnessed a HR robot flat out and lie.
Extremely poorly. HR is not there to make sure things are handled ethically and the right things are done. They are there to support whoever is higher up the cro ladder, however inappropriate what they do is. That is why a number of execs have been caught with their pants down...
