How often do promotions happen at Cabela's?
Supervisory and lead position come up about every 6 months or so.
Not sure only worked there for a seasonal position but it felt like we had a promotion every two to three weeks depending on the season
What is the best advice you could give someone during their first month at Cabela's?
Be patient with yourself and with your trainer. The fast-paced nature of the job means learning as you go.
Always try to get a credit card because that is what all of the managers want from you and also put the customer above yourself even if you have to go past you breaks or lunch.
What are the most important soft skills I need to be successful at Cabela's?
Depends on were you are at? If anywhere else in the store known your product and learn everything you need to know about it. If cashiering than be able to get people to sign up for a credit card

How does Cabela's handle HR issues?
Depends on the situation and the person in question. I was bullied by an outfitter because I spoke to his lead about a comment he made. He came to me threatened me. I reported to HR and store manager. He got a slap on the hand. I’m not a fan of HR but I do love my job. I just avoid this outfitter.

Great discounts, especially for outfitters that have been onboard a long time.

Is it OK for a manager to harass an employee for not signing a time in and out sheet made up by the warehouse manager that is not company policy and only pertains to certain people in the warehouse and not others in the company ?
