i have 3 great leaders at the moment but we consistently battle our general manager on polices enforced that protect the store, doesn't protect employees from customers, is afraid of a negative review, cuts time n money by shorting the staff sry only 300 wrds but there is more
They welcome ideas and/or criticism as if you are helping and giving input to a friend.
Review from Operations Dept
They are approachable and accessible.
Friendly, reasonable, helpful, supportive, knowledgeable.
Flexabiltiy and agileity of the executive team
Communication could be much better, some managers have one way of doing things and other managers have a different way. Management and the outfitters are taught differently on how things are ran. The only care the management has is if you get a club referral. $1 on your paycheck and $5,000 to cabela
Scheduling, preferential treatment, communication. Management training .
Making things fair for everyone . Giving us the proper tools and equipment to to our jobs !!!
They need to get off their power trips and be more empathetic.
all outfitters should have to follow the same policies with the same consequences. They also need to properly train their employees. Most importantly, they need to actually recognize when an employee is going above, instead of just loading more on in attempt to balance what their favorites dont do.
health insurances are actually decent for the area i live in 401k is nice and matches vacation and sick days are definitely abundant
Insurance coverage and employee discounts.
Nothing really the party is okish
Medical benefits dental and optical
Thr employee discount and helping cudtomers
My job/ethics are not taken into account when considering my pay. I work above my paygrade but Cabela's could care less. People are genuinely trying to do better jobs but Cabela's does not recognize the talent they have.
Pay, comp , benefits, discount, salary
Yearly evaluations are often poorly executed and offer little increase in compensation. Those around me are often noticed for all of the extra effort and tasks they take one and therefore aren't recognized come their evaluation.
Review from Operations Dept
I would like to see a fair and liveable offered to all outfitters and some kind of financial incentive to reward those that go the extra mile.
Refer to previous comments. Event coordinator is necessary. More department leadership. PTO *sick+ Vacation days*, larger discounts/more giveaways. Original Gear. American gear. Compensation for travel.
We work great and bring in the most to the store while also doing our due diligence to protect it I.E; Safety, following S.O. P's, taking care of coworkers if they are struggling with the workload because 1 person cannot do 3 other people's jobs
Work well together without management around.
Easy going , relaxed , willing to support
I'm warehouse and we get the job done
They're dedication to the customer experience. Willingness to do anything to help customers and each other out
I work with everone it just poor management and not enough of
Review from Operations Dept
Talking more they stay there
Great people, friendly and very helpful!
Review from Sales Dept
Some are great others need to make sure that they are not stepping out of line for those that have been with the company for a long time or to people that have more experience than them
Review from Sales Dept
Our coworkers that are new hires need to be trained that we all work as a team. Most that are hired now come in with high and mighty attitudes. We need to take knowledge from each individual and learn from each other. Build each other up and work for the same goal.
Review from Customer Support Dept
There is nothing postivie about the company.
The fact there are groups of people keeping the store afloat by working together through general management's terrible choices or corporates questionability for work policy updates some guy somewhere is making too much money for ideas that make zero sense
People, merch, freight, buyers, team
that there are some nice people that care about everyone
We get to work with good customers.
The hourly amount that is paid
New HR, new management, better training is needed.
I would hope it isn't a Company culture that causes the unpleasant work environment but that of just a few power hunger individuals at the store level. If all members of management were to truly embrace the company values there wouldn't be an issue.
The store manger john w. Oh, doesn't understand the side of the warehouse or how to check in firearms or he doesn't want anything to do with fire arms he needs to be transferred and get somebody who knows how to run a warehouse along with a retail front
Try to help people and to help
One interview process and fast hiring
The friendly and caring manner.
Fair and honest, and was very helpful at explaining the questions
Review from Sales Dept
Convenient interview scheduling options. Was offered multiple times and I got to pick which one
I was able to meet all of my teammates during the process.
Review from Design Dept
Timley manner. Stop asking general questions and have it pretain to the job i appoled for
Make it easier to apply
Ask more customer service based questions, provide potential scenarios and ask how one would react, Break down policies, allow time for questions, provide standard answers to common questions so they're prepared. Go over things like club card, conservation roundup, gear guard, phone capture, etc.
the passion of working with something i love which is firearms and hunting, its like being a mechanic in a dream dealership and working with your favorite cars to your favorite parts but for me and firearms
The customers and helping them find not only what they are looking for but to be able to make educated recommendations to improve upon there outdoor experiences.
Staff, merchandise, discount, workload, daysoff
The customers and the products we sell
Being praised for a job well done. Not only by management but by fellow outfitters.
Review from Operations Dept
Management needs some major help. There is obvious favoritism, they can never seem to give a straightforward answer, there is obvious tension amongst the leadership team, and their answer to everything if questioned is along the lines of "if you don't like it, just quit." & that's just a start.
Just dealing with rude ppl and a lack of product
Review from Customer Support Dept
Help to to be the best
no customers, loosing product, we need more stock and need to give back better discounts
Review from Sales Dept
Many people aren't shopping at Cabela's, because new brands are coming in that are Bass Pro exclusive. I've heard from others that some customers aren't willing to shop there anymore because of it.
