Executive Bio

Mr. Russell J. Hiscock, CFA, has been the President and Chief Executive Officer at CN Investments at Canadian National Railway Company since February 2008 and manages one of the largest corporate pension funds in Canada. Mr. Hiscock has many years of equity portfolio management experience, in both the Canadian and International stock markets, with particular emphasis on the oil and gas sector. He served as General Manager of CN Investment Division and his responsibilities were equivalent to those of individuals with the title of chief investment officer and Chief Operating Officer, including investment policy, asset allocation, oversight of portfolio managers, finance and administration, accounting, performance measurement, information technology and human resources management. He has been Vice Chairman of Rife Resources Ltd since May 19, 2016 and serves as its Director. He has been Director of Valeura Energy Inc. since January 2018. He served as a Director of Freehold Resources Ltd from May 7, 2008 to November 10, 2009. He is a member of the Royal Victoria Hospital Foundation and the Loyola High School Foundation Investment Committees and is Past Chairman of Pension Investment Association of Canada (PIAC). He received the Chartered Financial Analyst certification in 1983 and the Certified Management Accountant designation in 1986. He obtained a B. Math. degree from University of Waterloo in 1975, an M.A. in Economics from University of Western Ontario in 1976 and an MBA from University of Toronto in 1977.
