Mr. Steve W. Laut has been President of Canadian Natural Resources Limited since April 2005 and serves as its Principal Executive Officer. Mr. Laut served as an Executive Vice-President of Operations of Canadian Natural Resources Limited from 2001 to 2003 and also its Chief Operating Officer since May 2005. He first joined Canadian Natural Resources Ltd. in 1991. He joined Canadian Natural in 1991 as Senior Exploitation Engineer and was appointed Vice-President, Operations, in 1996. In 1997, he was appointed Senior Vice-President of Canadian Natural and in 2001, Executive Vice-President. Mr. Laut held various positions as Reservoir Engineer and Production Engineer with Poco Petroleum, Adams Pearson, Petro-Canada, Dome Petroleum and Unocal. Mr. Laut has been a Non-Independent Director of Canadian Natural Resources Limited since August 1, 2006. He serves as member of the Association of Professional Engineers, Geologists and Geophysicists of Alberta (''APEGGA''). He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Calgary.
