Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?

As a female, I am one of the lowest paid members of my team. I have continued to perform and it's disappointing to learn how my compensation compares to other people in lower tenured roles.

Some years ago I wanted to achieve a better position in the company, but in spite of having a good performance, there are no budget to be recognised either my career. I have been working for a lot of years in the same position (P3) and I wish my work was recognized by the company.

I was not promoted when I think I should have, nor did I receive a reasonable raise. The reason was "because of budgetary reasons". I don't think this is a valid excuse when every in Town Hall meeting the higher-ups say everything's going great.

My most recent pay rise was a cut in both real terms (deflated by any measure of inflation you care to choose) and compared to the market. I was extremely disappointed, and the radio silence since then leads me to assume that this is part of a plan (as used by many companies) to exploit loyalty.
