Jason Barker — COO at ChenMed
Executive Bio
Jason Barker is Chief Operating Officer at ChenMed. Together with ChenMed’s CMO, Dr. Gordon Chen, Jason provides collaborative executive leadership support for the company’s regional, market, and center-specific dyad leaders, as well as to key centers of excellence (COEs) – all to better support the exceptional ChenMed primary care physicians providing personalized primary care to diverse populations of seniors.
In his prior role at ChenMed as Florida President, Jason led the national Operations Center of Expertise ensuring that ChenMed’s unique model of care was properly staffed and executed across all markets.
With over 30 years experience in healthcare, Jason has led hospitals, medical groups, independent practice associations (IPAs), and health plans. In addition to his role at ChenMed, Jason has held leadership roles with CareMore Health Plans, Providence St. Joseph Health System, SCL Health, Prospect Medical Systems, and Phycor. A pioneer in risk-based delivery systems, Jason has launched several risk-based contracting entities, including IPAs, physician-hospital organizations, Medicare Shared Savings Program ACOs, and Next-Gen ACOs.
Jason received his bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Washington, and a master’s degree in health administration from the University of Minnesota School of Public Health.
