Executive Bio
Mr. Robert McDowell has been Chief Commercial Officer of Choice Hotels International Inc. since April 2016. Mr. McDowell served as Senior Vice President of Marketing and Distribution at Choice Hotels International Inc. until April 2016 and served as its Senior Vice President of Global Distribution since May 26, 2011. With over 25 years of travel industry experience, Mr. McDowell joined Choice Hotels from United Airlines, where he served as Managing Director of distribution and e-Commerce. At United Airlines, Mr. McDowell was responsible for its distribution strategy by all direct and non-direct sales channels, including United.com, its contact centers and all related sales channels. In his 15 years at United, he held positions of increasing responsibility in sales, revenue management and strategic planning. He served as the Chief Operating Officer of C&H International, a $600 million international travel agency, overseeing its daily operations. He served as a Director of The Hospitality Sales And Marketing Association International since February 2013. Mr. McDowell earned his master's degree in business administration from the University of Notre Dame and his bachelor's degree from the New York Institute of Technology.
