Alongside our parent company, CSL Limited, we recognize that corporate responsibility is about conducting our business ethically and contributing to the economic, social and environmental well-being of our communities. We believe that behaving responsibly is critical to the sustainability of our company. CSL continues to be guided by the General Assembly of the United Nations (UN) 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, which includes 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The goals seek to address global challenges, including those related to health and wellbeing, education, poverty, inequality, climate change, peace and justice. For CSL, these goals have guided the development of our sustainability strategy, with seven being identified as goals where performance against our 2030 Strategy, including our sustainability strategy, can positively impact their achievement.
CSL has an Environmental, Health, Safety and Sustainability (EHS2) Management System that its facilities operate to industry and regulatory standards. This system includes compliance with government regulations and commitments for continuous improvement of health and safety in the workplace, as well as minimising the impact of operations on the environment. To drive this system, CSL implemented an EHS2 Management System (EHSMS) Standard. Internal audits at one site demonstrated compliance with the EHSMS in FY2019/20. Completion of the remaining internal audits are planned over the next one to two years.
CSL Behring believes that supporting local and global communities through our products, financial resources and people, helps to build healthier and more sustainable environments. Our global community framework guides our contributions and support for patient, biomedical and local communities.
CSL Behring provides charitable donations to eligible tax-exempt entities to be used for the benefit of the patient community in the United States. Requests for donations must be aligned with CSL Behring’s therapeutic areas of interest. All requests will be evaluated based on CSL Behring's giving priorities and values, which include patient education and disease state awareness, building patient advocacy and improving patients’ access to their medicine. Approved donations must also comply with internal company guidelines, which reflect the requirements of various federal agencies, including the Internal Revenue Service and U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
