The interviewers were actually interviewing, not just going through the motions.

Rare moments when I am allowed to do my job properly without interference/micro-managing that slows things down, prioritizes incorrectly, and make results ineffective.

What needs to change to make the company culture better?

The management needs to understand that fundamental systemic changes will be necessary to evolve as an organization. Unfortunately, they are unwilling to entertain such notions.
