my immediate boss is amazing
One local sales manager keeps the team together, prioriting positive feedback & support. At the corporate level, they have instituted an entirely new micromanagement philosophy which will chase away the best employees.
Creating opportunities for employees at all levels
There are multiple packages to chose from as well at other benefits such as pet insurance and hospital indeminity.
Its a typical package in line with my position in the marketplace
PTO is fair and plenty
Competitive salary, stock and cash bonus. Occasional spot bonuses for extraordinary efforts is extra nice.
High deductible health plan is awful. Its almost like not having insurance. Seems like a bare minimum plan the company has chosen to pass costs onto the employees. For example one monthly prescription drug under my previous employer plan $10 a month - under the Scripps plan $1800 a month.
Open communication. No one is shamed. Truly care for each other.
One manager & we have a great team of employees.
The employees support each other and functions as their own team
Coworkers and the people in the newsroom /company who aren't management are truly talented, kind and smart
Great experience, and critical thinkers, yet adaptive and open to new models and more organic ways to build deliverables.
Our team is great & we have each others backs.
What's the culture of a sinking ship where the captain tells you everything is ok? What's the culture of that meme of a dog drinking coffee while everything is on fire around him? It's fear for your livelihood. It's manipulation to take it "for the team". There are no more positives in its culture
EVERYONE is happy, no one talks or interacts with one another because it's so negative.
The most positive about my work environment are the colleagues I work and interact with. They are great. The corporate leadership team is the horrible part of working for Scripps.
Friendly and flexible work environment.
it was a short process
With the exception of new HR system (at the time) causing some hiccups, interview process was smooth and easy. This was back in 2019 though.
Speaking the same language (metaphorically)
The feeling of accomplishment for a job well done.
My colleagues are what make me most happy at work
Variety or work and opportunities to grow
