She is a Member of several professional organizations including Ethisphere - Business Ethics Leadership Alliance. She is a Corporate Ethics Leadership Council at CEB. She serves as Member of Conference Board at Global Council on Business Conduct. She is a Member of Healthcare Businesswomen's Association and is a Licensed Attorney with the Indiana State Bar. She serves on the Board of The Center for the Performing Arts (Vice Chair), Visit Indy, The Children's Museum and The Great American Songbook Foundation. Ms. Barnes holds a Bachelor of Science in Political Science & Government (highest distinction) from Purdue University and a Juries Doctorate from Harvard Law School. She has been a Director of Algonquin Power & Utilities Corp. since June 9, 2016.
