Mr. Newton F. Crenshaw, also known as Newt, has been President of Young Life at Eli Lilly & Co., since July 15, 2016. Mr. Crenshaw serves as the Vice President of e.Lilly Venture Fund. He has been President and General Manager of Lilly Japan at Lilly Eli & Co. since August 1, 2003. He serves as Vice President of Lilly Ventures. He served as Vice President of Oncology Global Business Development and Advocacy at Eli Lilly & Co., since July 2011 until July 15, 2016 and served as its Vice President of Policy, Pricing, Reimbursement & Access & International Corporate Affairs from July 2008 to July 2011. He served as Vice President of communications and public affairs of Lilly Eli & Co. Japan. Mr. Crenshaw has more than 15 years' pharmaceutical industry experience. He joined Lilly in 1985 as a sales representative in Charlottesville, Virginia. In 1988, he became a marketing analyst and in 1989 a government pricing associate. In December 1989, he was named manager of the Nashville district. He was named manager of marketing research (oral antibiotics and CNS) in 1992. In 1994, he became regional sales director, south central area. He became team leader of business-to-business customer strategy and implementation in 1997. He served as Vice President of Sales and Marketing, for Lilly USA, where he was responsible for building the affiliate's $4.5 billion business. In August 2002 he became Vice President of communications and public affairs for Lilly. He serves on several outside boards, including chair of PhRMA's Japan-based executive committee. He served as a Director of Relayhealth Corporation. Mr. Crenshaw received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and Mathematics with honors from Depauw University in 1985. He was also a Management Fellow, an honors program in the Center of Management and Entrepreneurship.
