Executive Bio

Dr. Susan Mahony, also known as Sue, Ph.D. has been the President of Lilly Oncology and Senior Vice President of Eli Lilly & Company since February 11, 2011. Dr. Mahony has been Director of Assembly Biosciences, Inc. since 2017. She served as Senior Vice President of Human Resources at Eli Lilly & Co. from May 1, 2009 to February 11, 2011. Dr. Mahony served as President and General Manager of Eli Lilly Canada Inc. since July 2008. She served as Executive Director of Six Sigma of Demand Realization at Lilly's global headquarters in Indianapolis, Indiana where she was responsible for Six Sigma efforts in sales, marketing and the affiliates globally. Previously, she held various senior global marketing and brand development positions responsible for such products as Cymbalta, Yentreve and Prozac. Dr. Mahony has nearly 20 years experience in the pharmaceutical industry in the United Kingdom, Europe and the United States. Before joining Lilly in 2000, She held various sales and marketing roles with Bristol-Myers Squibb, Amgen and Schering-Plough. Dr. Mahony is a member of the Board of Directors of the Park Tudor School in Indianapolis. she was recognized as one of the Indianapolis Business Journal's 'Women of Influence.' Dr. Mahony received a Ph.D. in Pharmacy and a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from Aston University, Birmingham in the UK, which also awarded her an honorary doctorate degree. She received Master degree in Business Administration from the London School of Business in 2010.
