Dr. Andrew M. Dahlem, Ph.D has been Chief Operating Officer of Eli Lilly & Co., since 2016 and served as its Vice President of Operations for Lilly Research Laboratories since February 2007 until 2016. Dr. Dahlem served as Vice President of Toxicology, Drug Disposition, Pharmacokinetics and Lilly Research Labs (Europe) since January 2003 and as its Vice President of drug disposition, pharmacokinetics, discovery operations, and LRL European operations since December 2001. He joined Lilly in 1990 as a Senior Pharmacologist and served as its Head of Biochemical Toxicology since 1992 and Director of Drug Disposition and Biochemical (investigative) Toxicology since 1993. He served as Executive Director for Toxicology and Drug Disposition at Lilly since 1998 and he assumed responsibility for LRL in Europe in 1999 and for discovery operations in 2000. He serves as a Director of Indigo BioSystems, Inc. He was President of the Indianapolis/Cincinnati Discussion Group of the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists. He is a Member of the Indianapolis/Cincinnati Discussion Group of the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists and the International Society for the Study of Xenobiotics. He is a Member of the Sigma Xi Honor Society. He is a Member of the Senior Management Council. He is Adjunct Professor of Toxicology in the College of Veterinary Medicine of both Purdue University and the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Dr. Dahlem was the recipient of the Joseph O. Alberts Award for the outstanding graduate researcher in the College of Veterinary Medicine. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Wildlife Biology from The Ohio State University in 1982 and a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Toxicology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 1989.
