Out of 114 First Republic Bank employee reviews, 79% were positive. The remaining 21% were constructive reviews with the goal of helping First Republic Bank improve their work culture.
They were friendly and personable. You could talk to them like normal people. They gave you the time of day. Less than a year after starting there, I met the CEO waiting in line at a Christmas party and we spoke like normal people. Senior leadership judges our annual Halloween Costume Contests!
Transparency. Leadership is all accessible to everyone, regardless of position in the bank.
Transparency, respect for their subordinates
Great teamwork and hight work ethics
They have a horizontal management style that allows everyone to feel valued.
Best in class benefits. But company besieged with petty politics. No avenues for professional growth. Everything can change but as of now, it is a great place for people requiring visa sponsorship and those who have taken big loans. All ambitious people stay away. There are better places for you.
More opportunities for dialogue between leaders and employees. More diversity and inclusion. People of color are marginalized and ignored. If FRB is a true meritocracy, why aren't there any people of color in senior leadership? Is FRB saying that people of color can't compete?
they need to communicate better and be more transparent
Making it safe for the team members to voice unpopular opinions and concerns.
The Health insurance was GREAT and very afforable. Pay was above average even for entry level roles. They help you pay off your student debt putting $100 towards it per month as soon as you start. $150 wellness stipen each quarter for ANYTHING remotely wellness related. 401k match from the start 6%+
Health benefits and options are great.
Benefits and Stipends are unheard of elsewhere
Cookies and the free wine
Very great total compensation package
majority of roles are based on tenure instead of value you bring
Better split on self sourced business
They go above and beyond the industry standard. They are innovative, caring go-getters. They value everyone's input. They are adaptable and intelligent. They are FUN to be around. They make the office a joy to walk into
Respectful, experiences and intelligent FRB makes a point to go after the best of the best in banking.
Regular meetings to discuss ideas and open new opportunities
Caring, collaborative, genuine, hardworking, always goes the extra mile
Everyone values the culture here
More open engagement and positive feedback communication hut unfortunately the management does not allow for that
Less internal politics. While there are some lovely people who work here, there's a lot of nepotism and double standards. Some people can treat their colleagues any way they want with impunity. It's unacceptable. More equality, please.
One of our core values is 'Have Fun'. Our company takes its core values seriously. We have a desk dedicated to FRB puzzles. Walking around the office there is huge jenga blocks, corn hole, and other games. We have fun. We celebrate the holidays with fun activities. Its more than just a workplace
FRB really strives to cultivate a positive environment. It feels comfortable, never scared to speak up to your boss or leadership. They foster relationships.
Very open to flex time and completing work at home. Also encourage bottom up ideas and management.
Collaborative, caring, gives back to the communities
Leadership team is by far the most understanding and approachable ive ever cine across
Recognition of hard work. Managers & some executives are lazy and incompetent.
Nepotism is a real problem. No career tracks. Diversity and Inclusion is only considered as far as white women. Not a lot of consideration to people of color or LGBTQ. They won't even allow employees to have employee resource groups.
less micromanagement, better communication, keep employees involved in decisions
Less hierarchy and fewer politics.
Everyone was friendly, open to share their experiences, and timely. They were prompt and accomodating
minimum of 5 interviews. On every level - from a banker in the PBO to senior leadership. They take hiring the right people very seriously.
Face to face with people that I would be working with.
Thorough, efficient, top notch, intentional
The interview itself was great
Manager should take more interest and position candidate properly as per skills he or she processes. It seemed as if I was only hired to fill somebody temporarily going away on leave of absence.
The people, the flexibility of the job, the work I am doing, and the impact I can have on the company and the communtiy around me
Team collaboration and open to expanding roles and relationships.
Everything about the company makes me happy
Doing awesome work every day
Great team, benefits and culture
Lack of career growth opportunities despite hard work. Management would rather hire laterally than reward hard work and promote from within.
I find the leadership of the company to be morally bankrupt. It's hard to go in every day working for a company that I don't believe in. They only care about rich, white people. There aren't career tracks because leadership slides their favorites in. Very disheartening.
too much volume, not enough staff. Better hiring practices.
People are rewarded more for obedience and compliance than for making a difference.
