Being honest and transparent. Lead from the front. Putting effective leaders in leadership positions, those that can interact and lead their teams on day to day basis.

Focus on the right thing. Focus on cost, not headcount. One head count cost in North America is equivalent to 5 headcount in Asia. Focus on cutting where it will cause the least damage to capabilities but with maximum impact to cost. Cut cost not talent and capability.
Market pays better and better benefits
Company wide benefits on vacation and health are well defined and executed effectively. However, there is no transparency on bonuses, pay raises and promotions. Significant disparity and non-transparency of these benefits.
Compensation should be more generous at entities that are generating good revenue.

They actually need to do interviews
Get rid of the people who have been around for decades that haven't advanced significantly and do things "the way we've always done them" because they don't have the aptitude to do better. They stiple our competitiveness and see themselves as superior because they've managed to do just enough.
