Harry Milton Conger IV — President & COO of Americas at Freeport-McMoran

Mr. Harry Milton Conger, IV, also known as Red, has been the President of Americas and Chief Operating Officer of Americas at Freeport-McMoRan Inc. since 2007 and since July 2015. respectively. Mr. Conger has 30 years of mining industry experience, including 21 years of experience with Phelps Dodge and FCX. He has held a number of senior operations positions in North and South America. He served as President of Americas division at Freeport-McMoRan Copper & Gold Inc. since December 2007. He was responsible for management of the Freeport-McMoRan Copper & Gold Inc.'s North and South American operations. Mr. Conger served as the Chairman of Homestake Mining Company from 1982 to 1998 and served as its Chief Executive Officer from December 1978 to May 1996. From 1978 to 1982, he served as the President and Chief Executive Officer of Homestake. He has been extensively involved in numerous major project developments, with both on-site. He served as Non Executive Deputy Chairman of ASA Limited (also known as ASA (bermuda) Ltd.) since 2004. He has been a Director of Sociedad Minera Cerro Verde SAA since March 31, 2009. He has been a Director of CalMat Co., Inc. since 1981. He serves as a Trustee of the California Institute of Technology. Mr. Conger served as an Independent Director of Golden Minerals Company from April 1997 to August 2008. He served as a Director of Pacific Gas & Electric Co, a San Francisco based utility company since 1982. He served as a Director of Baker Hughes, Inc. until 1997. He served as a Director of ASA Limited from January 1984 to November 2008. He serves as a Director of the National Mining Association. He served as the Chairman of the American Mining Congress and is a Member of the National Academy of Engineering. He was the Chairman of the World Gold Council from 1995 to 1997. He is a registered Professional Engineer in both Arizona and Colorado. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in mining engineering from the Colorado School of Mines in 1977. Mr. Conger holds honorary Doctorate degrees from the Colorado School of Mines and South Dakota School of Mines and Technology.
