Thus far I am happy with my experience here at Genentech, however I wish there were not such a diversity gap within my department and would like to see more open opportunities to change that dynamic.
What makes you most happy at work?
Working with a team that is more than happy to help me succeed and grow both inside and outside of the lab.
What did you like most about the interview process?
The interviewing process was not draining and felt very relaxed. I enjoyed the openness of the interview and felt very comfortable throughout the whole process.
What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?
I love the environment within my team/department here at Genentech. I find that literally everyone I interact with is kind, open to new ideas, and is very supportive.
What do you like best about the leadership team?
The leadership team is very inclusive and provides lots of opportunities to learn and grow. However I would like to see more opportunities and acknowledgements made for the POC Community here at Genentech.
What are some of the best things about your team?
My team is very supportive and I enjoy working/growing/learning from/with them. I couldn't ask for a better group to be a part and love the flexibility that my team has for learning/teaching me new lab techniques so that I can better my skills as a scientist.
Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
I wish that contractors had more benefits as well as opportunities for attaining a permanent position here at Genentech. I feel that a lot of the work that contractors do goes above and beyond their call to duty but without the compensation that should come with that level of responsibility.
