Executive Bio

Mr. Azeez Mohammed has been the President and Chief Executive Officer for GE Energy Connections Power Conversion Unit of General Electric Company, GE Power Service and General Electric Company since July 2016. Mr. Mohammed served as the President and Chief Executive Officer of Power Services business for the Middle East and Africa (MEA) at General Electric Company until July 2016. He was instrumental in leading GE's digital transformation, helping to position the organization as the world's foremost digital-industrial company by launching innovative customer solutions in the power and LNG sectors. He started his career with GE Research & Development in 1998, where he worked on advanced technologies for application in the Energy and Healthcare industries. He then joined GE's Corporate Audit Staff in 2002 and graduated as a senior audit manager in 2006. That same year, he led the Energy Services Simplification initiative in GE Energy where he was responsible for simplifying and creating transparency in the P&L to create a stable platform for growth. In 2008, he was named general manager of Contractual Services for Latin America, where he built a strong team and localized them in the key Latin American countries. He also converted the business into a growth engine with sustained double digit growth. He holds both a MS degree and a doctorate in mechanical engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (1994 ' 1998) and a B.Tech degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology-Madras (1989 ' 1993).
