Executive Bio

Mr. Daniel Oreste Colao serves as Chief Financial Officer of GE Capital at General Electric Company. Mr. Colao served as the Vice President of Financial Planning & Analysis for GE Capital at General Electric Company since January 2011. He is responsible for all financial planning and reporting processes, including helping to set business strategy, as well as supporting regulatory and investor communications. Mr. Colao has extensive knowledge and experience in finance. Mr. Colao has been with GE for over 23 years. He served as Chief Financial Officer for GE Capital, Auto Financial Services; GE Capital, Fleet Services; GE Capital, Vendor Financial Services and GE Asset Management Incorporated. He joined GE in 1988 through the Financial Management Program. After graduating the program, he held various financial roles in GE Licensing and GE Real Estate before becoming the Chief Financial Officer at Real Estate's International business based in London. Following his overseas assignment, Mr. Colao worked in GE Capital Corp as Staff Executive supporting the President of GECC. Starting in 1999, he held progressively larger Chief Financial Officer roles in GE Auto Finance, Fleet Services, Vendor Financial Services and GE Aviation Services (GECAS). Prior to rejoining General Electric, Mr. Colao was employed at Lehman Brothers. From March 2007 to July 2008, he accepted a position at Lehman Brothers as Managing Director and Global Chief Financial Officer for Lehman Brothers Bank and the Mortgage Capital Division. In 2008, Mr. Colao was promoted to Global Chief Financial Officer of Lehman Brothers Investment Management Division in 2008. From September 1999 to March 2007, Mr. Colao served in various Chief Financial Officer roles in several GECC businesses including Real Estate, Consumer Auto Finance, Fleet Services, Vendor Financial Services and Aviation Services. Prior to that, Mr. Colao served in various financial roles at GE and GECC. Mr. Colao was named a GE Officer in 2013 and a GECC Officer in 2004. He served as Director of Synchrony Financial from February 2014 to December 9, 2015. He has an Undergraduate degree from Boston College where he graduated summa cum laude with BS in Finance.
