Executive Bio

Mr. Rafael Santana is President and Chief Executive Officer of GE Transportation, a global technology leader and supplier to the rail, mining, marine, stationary power and drilling industries with annual revenues of roughly $5 billion and approximately 10,000 employees globally. Prior to joining GE Transportation, Santana was President & CEO of GE in Latin America, where he worked closely with the business leaders to transform Latin America into one of GE's largest and fastest-growing regions. He also served as President & CEO of GE Oil & Gas Turbomachinery Solutions, where he led profitable growth for a business facing a contracting marketplace by launching critical cost out initiatives, new technology and digital solutions. In addition, Santana held roles as CEO for GE Gas Engines and CEO for GE Energy in Latin America, spent eight years in a variety of commercial and product management roles in GE Transportation, as well as led the Transportation team in Latin America. Prior to joining GE in 2000, Santana worked for six years at ExxonMobil and British American Tobacco. He holds a degree in Engineering from the Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais, Brazil.
