Executive Bio

Mr. Uwem Ukpong serves as Chief Integration Officer of Baker Hughes, a GE company. Mr. Ukpong leads overall integration planning for GE Oil & Gas. He is an industry veteran with oil industry experience spanning four continents and previously held technical roles as a petrophysicist and reservoir engineer. He served as the Chief Executive Officer and President of Surface Product Company for GE Oil & Gas since January 2016 until 2017. He served as the Vice President of Baker Hughes Integration of GE Oil & Gas, a subsidiary of General Electric Company since 2017 and was responsible for all product lines, systems and global operations of the Surface business unit. He started his career in 1993 with Schlumberger in Nigeria as a petrophysicist. He has held a number of senior executive roles at Schlumberger including human resources director for Schlumberger Corporate, Vice President and Regional Manager of Software Integrated Solutions in Latin America and General Manager of Schlumberger Oilfield Services in Equatorial Guinea, Cameroon, Ivory Coast and Ghana. He served as the President of Software Integrated Solutions at Schlumberger Limited since September 16, 2015 until December 16, 2015. Mr. Ukpong served as the President of Schlumberger Information Solutions at Schlumberger Limited until September 16, 2015. He has a Bachelor's degree in mathematics and computer science and a Master's degree in petroleum engineering from Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh, United Kingdom.
