If you raise any issue there is no guarantee it will be kept private. They gossip and forward such issue details to your manager and friction starts there.
How does GoldenSource measure success and growth in the Engineering department?
They have MAC process for annual appraisal. Goals remain un-aligned with tasks you would be doing. Promotions will be provided to favorite employees only. Increments also vary as per your MAC score.

Learn their product and increase your dependency. Then keep answering calls even outside work hours.

Only if you want fixed salary as there is no variable pay.
How are layoffs handled in the Engineering department at GoldenSource?
They call and tell you that you have 2 options. Either get fired or resign. They also tell you that if fired you might not find better job prospects so it's better for you to resign. There is not much legal recourse here in india. They also do not provide any severance. Salaries are held without cause. Not much opportunity to grow here. Many people are resigning.
