Executive Bio

Gary VanderLind is Senior Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer for The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company. As the company’s global human resources leader, VanderLind is responsible for fostering a high-performance culture and ensuring all associates are inspired to realize their full potential and contribute to the long-term growth and success of the company.

VanderLind joined Goodyear in 1985, working in the company’s North America retail operation. He managed four company-owned stores and became immersed in Goodyear’s culture and business through his daily engagement with associates and consumers. In 1991, he transitioned into human resources and went on to hold leadership positions in the function in North America and Europe. VanderLind was named to his current role in 2019.

Throughout VanderLind’s tenure in human resources, he has placed special emphasis on increasing associate engagement to further strengthen Goodyear’s competitive advantage and culture of collaboration. In addition to leading a global team of human resource professionals, VanderLind also oversees Goodyear’s global commitments to diversity and inclusion, and health and wellness.

VanderLind has a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management and Human Resources from Ohio University. He lives in Northeast Ohio with his wife, Lisa.
