
Grubhub's Frequently Asked Questions page is a central hub where its customers can always go to with their most common questions. These are the 132 most popular questions Grubhub receives.
Extra large orders may pop up in your queue of tasks and you would proceed with accepting or rejecting the offer just like you would with any other offer.
Sometimes an offer may be pre-scheduled. In these instances, you may receive an in-app notification or an SMS from a Grubhub Specialist asking if you would like to accept a future offer. If you say yes, it will remain in your task queue until that time comes.
What if you’re toggled available and take other offers when you were previously scheduled for an order?
The system will create a buffer prior to the start of your task, and will stop sending you offers. This buffer should provide enough time to complete your previous deliveries and arrive at the restaurant on time for your pre-scheduled order. If for some reason this is not enough time, or you receive a conflicting offer, please use your App to reach out to Grubhub and let us know

In order to be eligible for this feature, you will need a verified bank account set up for direct deposit.For security purposes, Instant Cash Out will not be available for 72 hours after your bank account information has been verified or updated.
If this change was not made by you, or you believe that an unauthorized person has accessed your account, immediately reset your password and update your banking information in the Grubhub for Drivers app.
Remember: Grubhub will never call or text a driver and ask you for your password, provide you with a new password without your request, or ask you to reset your password.

View ArticleThe waiting timer feature empowers drivers to manage an unresponsive diner situation without having to call Grubhub care. This feature helps to streamline the process so that you can move on to your next delivery opportunity even faster!
How does it work?
After attempting to reach the diner by phone, you’ll be able to go to there’s a problem, and select diner isn't available. At this time a waiting timer will appear asking you to wait 8 minutes to make the delivery to the diner. After 8 minutes, you may mark an order as complete, and move on to your next opportunity.
But what do I do with the food?
Once the time runs out, three options automatically appear.
Delivered to Diner this option is always available; you do not need to wait the full 8 minutes if you’re able to make the delivery)
I’ll take the food if you are unable to make the delivery, feel free to take the food with you when you go!
I’ll leave the food leave the food at a designated location for the diner and send them a text to let them know where they can find it.
Will I get paid for the delivery if the timer runs out?
Yes! If, after using the waiting timer you’re unable to complete the delivery, you’ll still be compensated for the delivery as normal.
The timer ran out but I’m unable to make a selection. What’s wrong?
You need to be at the diner’s location in order for any actionable items in the feature to appear once the timer is done. If these features don’t appear, please contact care using the standard process in your app.
Why don’t I have the waiting timer option?
The waiting timer feature is new and is being rolled out incrementally to drivers nationally. This feature should make its way to all drivers in the next few weeks.

You'll be alerted soon after completing onboarding whether or not your market has a local office.
Local Office
If you are in a market with a local office, you will sign up for a time to pick up your equipment at the end of onboarding
You will also receive an email from your Driver Specialist with available times and instructions on how to pick up your equipment
No Local Office
If you are in a market that does not hold equipment pickups at the local office, you will receive your delivery bags 3-5 business days after completing your onboarding
We will send you an email with the tracking number once it becomes available

At therestaurant:
Arrive at the restaurant ahead of the pickup time
Introduce yourself to the staff and let them know you’re there to pick up a large Grubhub order
Wear your Grubhub shirt and hat so employees and diners can easily identify you
Bring multiple insulated bags and a small push cart to help manage the order
Remember, you need insulated bags to complete a delivery, however they do not need to be Grubhub branded
Identify your order by the customer’s name and pick up time
Verify all items of the order with the restaurant as they hand it to you
If there are multiple individual orders, write the name of the diner on their specific order
Pro tip: Having a few permanent markers can come in very handy for extra large orders
Confirm you have all items, paying special attention to commonly missed items such as:
Side Dressing
Sodas / Beverages
Condiments
Plates, napkins, & utensils (when requested)
For food quality, separate hot and cold items when packing them for transport

Delivering to a place of Business:
Some orders may go to residential communities but a lot of extra large orders are scheduled for delivery at businesses.
Make sure to arrive within a 10 minute window of the designated time (if pre-scheduled)
A lot of these orders are pre-scheduled to match up with business meetings. Arriving too early or too late could have a very negative impact on the diner’s experience which could impact their relationship with the driver and their willingness to tip accordingly next time.
Expect to bring the food to the diner, they generally will not come down to get the food from you
Check the Delivery Instructions in the App
Verify that you are at the correct suite number / company
You may need to check-in with the building’s security, this is a typical requirement of a lot of business locations
You may also need to check-in with the office manager or receptionist when you first enter the office itself
If leaving the food with the front desk, confirm that the diner works there and is expecting a delivery
You may be asked to set up the food

A few things to note:
In order to update your banking information you will be asked to re-enter your password.
When you start typing over your old information, you’ll be given the option to save the changes

Changes will take effect immediately however any changes made after 10pm (local time) on Mondays will not affect direct deposits until the next pay week

The information was entered incorrectly
You’re attempting to use a small bank or credit union whose information is not in the database
You’re attempting to use a pre-paid card or other alternative banking method.
If you are unable to update your direct deposit information in the app, you can also do so by emailing your information to [email protected]
You will need to provide one of the following in your email:
A voided check (Must have your name pre-printed on the check).
A typed direct deposit form from your bank (cannot be handwritten).

View ArticleScheduling blocks allows you to create a flexible schedule to earn when you want without interrupting life. They also give you the opportunity to receive more orders and potentially higher earnings!
A few things to remember about scheduling blocks:
When you schedule a block, you’re claiming that block for yourself so be sure to only pick up blocks you know you can work.
If you realize you’re unable to work a block that you’ve scheduled, drop it as soon as possible to allow other drivers in your market to pick it up. When you wait until the last minute to edit or drop your block, you take earning opportunities away from your fellow drivers.
If you regularly drop blocks within 72 hours of your block start time, we may restrict your access to scheduling.
Below are a few steps to take in order to schedule yourself a block. You can also check out scheduling in action by watching this tutorial.
Step 1: Log into the Grubhub for Drivers App and tap on “Scheduling” in the menu

View ArticleThroughout a delivery you'll tap a series of buttons in the Grubhub for Drivers app to signal to the restaurant, diner, and Grubhub what stage the order is in. This helps to ensure a smooth and seamless experience for you, the diner, and the restaurant.
Why is it important to tap these buttons at the appropriate time?
Tap them too soon and the diner will wonder why their food says delivered but they don't have it yet.
Tap it too late and the diner may not answer the door because the only thing they're expecting is a food delivery but their app says the food is still at the restaurant.
Both of these cases would be a poor experience for the diner which may lead to a lower tip for the driver on their future orders. And that driver could be you!

Place the order under the diner’s name
When picking up food, look for a general pickup area, not a Grubhub pickup spot
If there is no dedicated pickup area, walk up to the counter or hostess stand and ask where to pickup call ahead food
Let the restaurant know that you’re picking up an order for [diner’s name]
If ordering at the restaurant itself, still place the order under the diner's name

Please note that this is based on the date payment was issued to you, NOT the date the order was placed or fulfilled. An order placed at year-end but not paid to you until the following calendar year will be reflected on the next year's 1099-MISC.

View ArticleThe Grubhub Driver Card is a tool for Drivers to be able to accept and pay for Place & Payorders.
These cards arrive in the mail, are activated by the driver directly in the Grubhub for Drivers app, and are used to pay for orders which have a "Order, Pay, and Deliver" banner at the top of the offer.
You shouldneverpay for any Grubhub order that you have accepted for delivery with any form of payment other than the Grubhub Driver Card. Drivers will not be reimbursed by Grubhub for any other form of payment.
Please NotePlace and Pay orders are only available in certain markets. If your market does not have place and pay orders, you do not need the Grubhub Driver Card. To find out if your market is actively supporting Place and Pay orders, please reach out directly to your Driver Specialist.

Your program level is updated every Monday based on your delivery stats over the last 30 days.

You will always be able to view the day and time of your upcoming block release by tapping into Program Level within the Grubhub for Drivers app.
A few things to remember about scheduling blocks:
When you schedule a block, you’re claiming that block for yourself so be sure to only pick up blocks you know you can work.
If you realize you’re unable to work a block that you’ve scheduled, drop it as soon as possible to allow other drivers in your market to pick it up. When you wait until the last minute to edit or drop your block, you take earning opportunities away from your fellow drivers.
If you regularly drop blocks within 72 hours of your block start time, we may restrict your access to scheduling.

View ArticleOrders that are neither accepted nor rejected within approximately 90 seconds of being sent will disappear from your screen and will count as a rejected offer.
If you do not intend on delivering an order after reviewing its details, make sure to hit the Reject button. This allows Grubhub to promptly offer the order to another driver.
Please note: rejections affect your acceptance rate, which is a part of determining your Program Level.

View ArticleInstant Cash Out is a feature in the Grubhub for Drivers app that allows you to cash out your available earnings directly into your bank account whenever you want.
For security purposes, Instant Cash Out will not be available for 72 hours after your bank account information has been verified or updated.
If this change was not made by you, or you believe that an unauthorized person has accessed your account, immediately reset your password and update your banking information in the Grubhub for Drivers app.
Remember: Grubhub will never call or text a driver and ask you for your password, provide you with a new password without your request, or ask you to reset your password.

Will this cost me anything?
Grubhub has a $0.50 fee for each Instant Cash Out transaction, but if you are using a Chase checking account Grubhub’s $0.50 fee will be waived.
If I switch my bank account to Chase (or any other bank) will that automatically update?
No. If you change your bank account, address, or phone number, you will need to manually update this yourself through the Grubhub for Drivers App.

How long will it take for funds that I have cashed out to appear in my bank account?
Instant Cash Out transactions generally show up in your account in moments, but can take up to three business days depending on your bank.
When are earnings eligible to be cashed out using the Instant Cash Out feature?
All delivery payments and tips are available 15 minutes after the delivery is completed
Grubhub Contribution (available in select markets) will be available the day after they are earned, generally around 12pm (Local Time)
Adjustment pay may take additional time to be eligible
For security purposes, Instant Cash Out will not be available for 72 hours after your bank account information has been verified or updated
If your earnings are currently subject to garnishment, you will not be eligible for the Instant Cash Out feature until the garnishment is satisfied. In this instance, the feature will not appear as an option in your Grubhub for Drivers app
How many times can I cash out using this feature?
You can cash out using the Instant Cash Out feature as many times as you would like, up to $500 a day.
Can I cash out a portion of my earnings?
When you use the instant pay transfer feature you must cash out all of your available earnings (up to $500)
What does it mean if the banner said that the cash out failed?
This means that we were unable to fully process your Instant Cash Out transaction due to a loss of internet connection. Please try again once you have reconnected to the network.
What happens if I don’t cash out using Instant Cash Out?
Any funds not cashed out using the Instant Cash Out feature by 11:59pm CST on Mondays will be sent through the usual pay process.
How do I know if the cash out was successful?
A banner will appear at the top of the screen and you will receive an email confirmation.
