Executive Bio

Mr. Jordan Wertlieb has been the President of Hearst Television Inc. since December 2012. Mr. Wertlieb served as the President and General Manager of WBAL-TV11, Inc. from August 1, 2005 to 2011. He served as an Executive Vice President of Hearst Television from January 2011 to 2012, where he had management oversight responsibility for a portion of the 29 Hearst TV stations around the country and assisted Barrett on various corporate matters. He served as the President and General Manager of WBAL-TV from 2005 to 2011. He started his career as a Research Analyst at Katz Communications in New York. He was a Television Sales Account Executive at Katz in 1989, representing Hearst Broadcasting, as well as other leading station groups. In 1993, he joined WCVB-TV, the ABC affiliate in Boston as National Sales Manager and was promoted to Local Sales Manager in 1998. In November 1999, Mr. Wertlieb was promoted to General Sales Manager of WBAL-TV. He serves as Vice Chairman of the NBC Affiliate Board and is a Member of the National Association of Broadcasters' (NAB) Television Board. He has been a Director of The Hearst Corporation since November 2013. He is a Member of the University of Maryland Medical Center's Shock Trauma Board of Visitors, the Maryland DC Delaware Broadcasters Board of Directors. He earned multiple journalism honors, including two national Edward R. Murrow Awards, six National Headliner Awards and a national Walter Cronkite Award for political journalism. He is a Graduate of the NAB's Broadcast Leadership Training Program. Mr. Wertlieb holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor.
