Shaun Connolly — Chief Strategy Officer at Hortonworks

Mr. Shaun Connolly has been Chief Strategy Officer at Hortonworks, Inc. since October 2016. Mr. Connolly served as Vice President of Corporate Strategy of Hortonworks, Inc. since December 2011 until October 2016. Mr. Connolly is responsible for helping Hortonworks achieve its business objectives by guiding Hortonworks's corporate strategy and identifying new market opportunities for Apache Hadoop. He works at Hortonworks Data Platform (HDP). He is a seasoned enterprise software executive with more than 20 years of experience in the industry, with a track record of growing early stage and mid-size software companies into successful market leaders. Prior to joining Hortonworks, he served as vice president of product strategy at VMware, where he was focused on defining VMware's cloud application platform vision. He served as the Vice President of Product Management for JBoss Enterprise Middleware line of products at Red Hat and JBoss, Inc. Prior to Bluestone, Mr. Connolly served as Vice President of Product Development at Primavera Systems. He served as Vice President of Product Integration and Director level product management and development positions at Princeton Softech, where he led the development of integrated database archiving solutions for the top ERP/CRM applications. He served as Vice President of Product Management of SpringSource, Inc. He led global product management and expand SpringSource's portfolio of enterprise products, including the unveiled SpringSource Server tc and SpringSource dm Server product offerings. He spearheaded product strategy and management for the JBoss Enterprise Middleware System (JEMS). He was responsible for product management at Bluestone Software and later, following its acquisition, at HP Middleware, where he focused on creating a modular, service-centric enterprise middleware platform. Mr. Connolly served in Vice President and Director level product management and development positions at Hewlett-Packard, Bluestone Software and Primavera Systems. He is a panelist, speaker and contributing writer on topics such as aligning IT operations with business goals and getting the most from IT investments. He is recognized for helping transform early stage and mid-size software companies into successful market leaders. Mr. Connolly holds a BS in Electrical Engineering from Drexel University.
