There should be an automatic yearly cost of living raise. When the cost of living in the Bay Area is 51.4% higher than the national average and area prices are up 2.9%. With a 2.3% raise last year this does not even compete with COL.
At Hotchalk, it's common for people to wear multiple hats. There are people that go above and beyond and always wear multiple hats, but nothing is offered to them. This is not the best way to keep good employees happy.

The quality and consistency of my work is not valued. We are so concerned with treating people the same and "setting an example" with the old school view(s) that one person ruins it for the rest of us. We should highlight and reward people based on their commitment and contribution to our successes.
