I have been treated very well and promoted several times. At other places, I would likely not have been promoted as fast. They were willing to give me a chance and take a chance with me. I love Hy-Vee and would recommend working there to anyone who doesn't mind working at work.

Bonuses but that's all. I still got paid better at past jobs but loss in this company is mostly because of their own mistakes. Waste and their own crude stupidity.

That they wouldn’t have my back when I got sick.
I wish I knew how racist,closed minded,and forceful the workers ,management and customers are. That I shouldn't work very hard and management is lazy or customers are out to get you for the tiniest mistakes.
What are the most important soft skills to be successful at Hy-vee?
Be a people person and fit in with the two most dominating cultures that work there. You must get along with everyone and all customers no matter how rude.
Common sense and a good memory.

The customers is always right and hyvee is always watching you. If you do anything wrong by their standards they will finds ways to make you leave including do all of the work by yourself.

They don't allow vacations to most.
Not too bad. You get comp time now that you can use anytime, not just holidays.

Most will not. If you are not right for the company.
