Not encouraged enough
How's the vacation policy at Informatica?
Flexible time off (i.e. unlimited with manager approval). There are reviews of usage yearly.
We have "unlimited" flexible time off. In reality that means you can take ~5ish weeks of sick/vacation time in a year before HR will notice (I think you get flagged in their system at 24 days off? Or 26?). Obviously your vacation time has be approved by your boss, and some are more relaxed about it than others.

Informatica is the focal point of the digital transformation revolution sweeping through enterprises around the globe. Sounds too "corporatey"? Consider: Gartner ranks Informatica tops in six key data industry categories, which means we have the vision and the ability to execute. Forrester and others also rate us very highly. Informatica is a leader in SaaS; we began making the pivot to the Cloud long before other companies in this space, so we're further along on the journey than anyone else. We are the global leader in Enterprise Cloud Data Management. Over 7,000 customers on six continents. More than 1 Trillion transactions managed online per month. Informatica invests nearly $200MM per year in R&D, so we keep on innovating and releasing new product all the time. Our CLAIRE AI Metadata engine is a groundbreaking artificial intelligence tool that promises to accelerate the rate of discovery. Oh, and in the U.S. exempt employees get unlimited flexible time off.

What's the interview process like at Informatica?
DS, Algo, Databases, Performance related
Depends on the role and the location. R&D interviews in India can be a bear. Sales interviews in the U.S. go fairly easily. It's inconsistent, but overall good based on our candidate satisfaction surveys.
How's the work life balance at Informatica?
Top Employee Response
Informatica people work hard and play hard. So, while many in North America enjoy unlimited time off, the reality is that few employees abuse that perq because they have too much to do. The upside is that if you need to leave early for your family, or come in late because you had a doctor's appointment, no one raises an eyebrow.
Reasonable. Most people don't really do their jobs fully so I'm sure they have it quite easy.

What part of Informatica's business is growing fastest? What part is having difficulties?
The Cloud business across all categories is growing spectacularly well. As a result, the on-premise license business is fading, but that is by design as we pivot to the Cloud.
If you could make changes, how would you improve the culture at Informatica?
I would invest more in employee communications. The Company has stepped up its game in this area in the last year or so, but it has a long way to go. We don't celebrate our wins often enough or loudly enough, and there are fewer opportunities to meet with colleagues around the world than there used to be.
What do people at Informatica think about the CEO? What do they do well and what can they improve?
Our CEO is extremely smart. As they say in Boston, "wicked smart." He is very unassuming, and he has an infectious, upbeat personality. He succeeded a man who was an icon in Silicon Valley, so he had some very large shoes to fill. In the two years since he stepped into the role, I believe Anil Chakravarthy has proven that he is a visionary, flexible and charismatic leader.
What's the company culture like at Informatica?
Top Employee Response
The culture at Informatica is exceptionally collegial and, at the same time, professional. "C" level executives are very approachable and congregate with our teams all the time. I have colleagues in India, the Netherlands, England, and Australia who I can call upon to help out with a project or brainstorm ideas. Because we are growing rapidly, there are more systems and processes being put in place to help manage the business, and - for some - this added bureaucracy is a turn-off. Compared to other companies this size I know if, however, the level of bureaucracy is less than or at worst the same as you would find elsewhere. The only negative is this is a company that is very frugal. If you can do it yourself or bootstrap it, so much the better. Sometimes the situation calls for spending, and making the case for it can be difficult. Lastly, there are so many smart people here, they keep you on your "A" game. And the conversations you overhear in the canteen are a hoot!
Do people talk about their political views openly? Or do u gotta keep that secret?
Top Employee Response
People are pretty open and non-judgmental about political views as long as you don't make extreme comments one way or the other.
