What did you like most about the interview process?I appreciated the constant communication between myself and the hiring manager. I also appreciated that they worked with my schedule and were very flexible!
What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company? We show public praise or "high-fives" to our employees to give them the recognition they deserve!
What do you like best about the leadership team?We have monthly, company-wide "All-Hands" meetings where the leadership team can share information and company progress to be as transparent as possible.
What does the leadership team need to get better at?Being transparent, not hiding to our customers or the employees how our products work. Inspire does not equal clean energy.
Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?I'm highly underpaid based on market conditions.
What's going wrong and how can it be improved? No trust in this leadership team, or the ability for the company to be transparent to its employees, and definitely not its investors.
At Inspire, we show up to work each day ready to combat climate change and create a seamless clean energy experience for our customers. We believe that with passion, purpose, risk taking, and lesson learning, we can make a positive impact on the world.
Inspire Clean Energy was founded in 2014 and its current CEO is Stephanie Donner. Since its inception 12 years ago, Inspire Clean Energy has grown to 158 employees.
We’re here to transform consumer access to clean energy and accelerate a net-zero carbon future.
A better world powered by clean energy. We believe in a future where clean energy is accessible to everyone, everywhere, no matter who they are. And it's our mission to make that future a reality, today.
We aim to obtain clean, renewable energy in a way that is impactful while still being accessible. That means continuing to find ways to offer clean energy options in proximity to our members, support the development of new and existing renewable generation, and move toward a carbon-free future. To date, Inspire members have helped avoid over 5.6 billion pounds of carbon emissions (CO2e) from entering the Earth’s atmosphere. That’s equivalent to the impact of 3+ million acres of U.S. forest preserved for one year (that’s 213x the size of Manhattan!). And guess what? We're carbon neutral! In 2021, we achieved our goal of becoming a carbon neutral business for our operational footprint. That means we measure our annual footprint, reduce where we can, and then offset the rest. Of course, we know that neutral is no longer enough—which is why we have lots in the works coming soon!
By using clean energy to help power the developing world, we can also eliminate the need for fossil fuels by supporting renewable energy and avoiding carbon emissions. We support clean energy created by the sun, wind, and water. All of our renewable energy sources are based in the U.S.
We’ve teamed up with GivePower, a non-profit dedicated to providing clean energy solutions to those who have been disproportionately affected by climate change in the developing world. For every year that you are an Inspire member, we provide clean energy solutions to one person in critical need for one year. Our clean energy solutions support basic human needs – like clean drinking water – that people in these communities might not otherwise have access to. Over the next two years, we plan to donate over $500,000 to GivePower to extend our mission globally. We also offer mission immersions, where our team of epic climate activists travels alongside GivePower to install solar power in remote villages worldwide that lack electricity. To make a more local impact, we partner with local, charitable organizations to address the climate crisis happening in our backyard, whether it's through our employee resource group or our corporate impact.
