Dr. Cormac S.G. Conroy has been Corporate Vice President and General Manager of Communication & Devices Group at Intel Corporation since June 13, 2017. Dr. Conroy leads Intel's efforts to deliver world-class intellectual property, technology and solutions for wireless communications. An expert in wireless technology innovation, he joined Intel in 2017 with two decades of experience in running businesses and leading engineering teams. Most recently, he spent 11 years at Qualcomm Inc., culminating in his role as Vice President of Product Management. Before joining Qualcomm, he served as Chief Executive Officer, Vice President and Senior Vice President at Berk??na Wireless Inc., a startup he co-founded in 2001 to develop highly integrated RF CMOS cellular transceivers for mobile phones. He started his career at IBM Corp.'s storage systems division and subsequently at DataPath Systems Inc., where he led teams developing ADSL analog front-end integrated circuits spanning multiple product generations. He Co-founded Berkana Wireless, Inc. in 2001. Dr. Conroy served as Senior Vice President of Cellular Systems & Applications and Vice President of Strategic Marketing & Business Development at Berkana Wireless, Inc. A seasoned communications IC expert, Dr. Conroy has over 15 years of experience in the design of mixed-signal communications transceivers. He has participated in all levels of mixed-signal product development from the initial architecture phase through ongoing project management. He was program manager leading the design/development efforts for CMOS ADSL transceiver products at DataPath Systems. He has held engineering and engineering management positions at IBM, DataPath Systems and LSI Logic Corp., with special interest in wireless and DSL technologies. He served as a Director of Berkana Wireless, Inc. A prolific inventor, he has been granted more than 30 U.S. patents, with many additional patents pending. He is also the author or co-author of more than 20 articles published in technical journals and at industry conferences. Dr. Conroy holds a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering and an Master's Degree in Microelectronics, both from University College Cork in Ireland. He also earned a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineeringa nd Computer Science from the University of California, Berkeley.
