Executive Bio

Mr. James A. Murray, also known as Jim, serves as Chief Antitrust Counsel and Vice President of Law & Policy Group at Intel Corporation. Mr. Murray leads internal and external teams responding to government investigations and agency reviews of proposed mergers, provides input to reviews of significant business initiatives and ensures that Intel lawyers properly and consistently apply antitrust principles in advising. He joined Intel in 1996 as senior counsel for litigation and subsequently took on added responsibilities as director of competition policy. In his dual role, Mr. Murray led teams handling antitrust-related litigation, investigations and merger reviews and he chaired the resolution of competition policy questions within Intel Legal. His career at Intel has included an Intel Achievement Award for the successful resolution of cases triggered by Intergraph Corporation. Before joining Intel, he was a Partner at Graham & James. During his 18-year tenure at the firm, he specialized in antitrust and complex commercial litigation, handled government investigations and advised on antitrust issues related to business conduct. He was a trial attorney in the Antitrust Division of the U.S. Department of Justice and a law clerk to U.S. District Judge Malcolm M. Lucas. Mr. Murray earned a bachelor's degree in history from Stanford University and his law degree from the Boalt Hall School of Law at the University of California, Berkeley.
