Communication. Also take action on complaints. I often would voice complaints about something and it wouldn't go anywhere. Some of these complaints were pretty serious at times.
Actually get feedback and ideas from the people on the ground in the organization, rather than always pushing ideas top-down.
As an employee, I do not feel undervalued. I just wish our benefits were more competitive. I have never had such a high medical deductible to meet for my family working at previous jobs. But on the plus side, they do offer benefits!

Salary was way below market value for my role. Also, no one served as a mentor, i kind of felt i was a team of one. I also got put in precarious positions because work was thrown over the fence at me from other teams without any planning from them required.
Less meetings. Train individuals to only give information which is pertinent to the team. Lots of long meetings filled with information that is only intended for one or two people.
Stop saying that the company doesn't hire jerks. Because it does, and there are many.
More focus on the people and the places we help, and less on the company.

This company has a strict corporate structure, and ideas and power flow top down. They need to open it up, and let the ideas flow.
