  • Help was always available to those that ask for it. Feedback also giving during code review process to bring people up to speed on the style and conventions used. There are fairly tight standards about style type issues -- this is driven by a desire for the clients to see a consistent style from the team and not to see a variety of styles depending on which engineer developed any particular section.

Other clients are "unlimited overtime" get the job done and it's never too late to add a new feature, so it can be a more typical tech work schedule.

Asked to all employees at L4 Digital

  • Pretty good. Since they bill the client for your hours whether you work overtime depends on the client. Some clients capped the hours at 40 per week, so those projects are pretty easy. Other clients keep requesting new features, but not changing dates and allowing unlimited overtime, those projects are less fun.

  • L4 has an "unlimited paid time off" policy. You do need to "ask permission" in advance for vacation type PTO and it ous usually granted. However there is some competition for times like Xmas and new years weeks and the company does keep operating during these times and needs some people to work to respond to any client requests. I was able to take 4 contiguous weeks of PTO -- I had been with them 18 months at point and asked 3 months in advance. That was great.
