George M. Markantonis — President & COO of The Venetian/The Palazzo and President & COO of Sands Expo & Convention Center at Las Vegas Sands

Mr. George M. Markantonis serves as the Chief Executive Officer and has been President and Chief Operating Officer of Venetian Casino Resort (owner of The Venetian/ The Palazzo) since March 2015. Mr. Markantonis has been President and Chief Operating Officer of Sands Expo & Convention Center at Las Vegas Sands Corp since March 2015. He served as President and Managing Director of Kerzner International Bahamas Limited, a subsidiary of Kerzner International Holdings Limited and Kerzner International Resorts, Inc. Mr. Markantonis served as a Co-President and Co-Managing Director of Kerzner International Bahamas since September 2005. Mr. Markantonis served as the Chief Executive Officer at Atlantis of The Palm of Dubai of Kerzner International Holdings Limited since March 2004. Mr. Markantonis joined Kerzner International Ltd., as part of the Executive team. Mr. Markantonis served as Senior Vice President of Hotel Operations for Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, the flagship hotel casino of Caesars Entertainment, Inc. He started his career as a Hotel Front Desk Clerk in South Africa. He quickly rose through the ranks of the hospitality business in South Africa. Mr. Markantonis worked for Westin Hotels and Resorts for 16 years in South Africa, Canada and the United States. He served as a Director of LV.COM, LLC until July 2015. He is the recipient of multiple industry and community awards for his efforts in the hospitality arena and was honored with the prestigious 'Hotelier of the Year' Award in 2003 from the State of Nevada.
