These efforts may include recycling initiatives, clean-ups, educational programs, the construction of nature trails and research projects.

Community Impact and Philanthropy

At MPC, community investment is an integral part of our business. We collaborate with our stakeholders to positively impact the communities where we operate throug h strategic investments that create measurable, lasting and sustaining value. MPC and its employees provide support to 501(c)(3) non-profit and government-related organizations and agencies in the form of foundation grants, corporate contributions and sponsorships, and workplace giving and volunteerism. While we will accept requests from eligible organizations across our marketing area, preference will be given to communities where the company has a significant employee presence.

The Marathon Petroleum Foundation, Inc. strategically focuses its community investments on three core areas where it can make a positive, measurable impact: science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) education, environmental conservation/sustainability and public safety. MPC also provides limited support to community-based organizations to address local health, human and social service needs.
