Mr. Francis Michael Crowley was Vice Chairman of Markel Corporation (???Markel???) from August 2016 to December 31, 2017. Mr. Crowley served as the President and Co-Chief Operating Officer of Markel from May 2010 to December 2015. Mr. Crowley joined Markel in February 2009 as President of Markel Specialty and he served in that role until April 2010. Prior to that, Mr. Crowley served as President of Willis/HRH North America and as President and Chief Operating Officer of Hilb, Rogal & Hobbs, which was acquired by Willis in 2008. He began his insurance career in 1974 with Johnson & Higgins.
